Tina Marie Rees, MA, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who is a Certfied EMDR Therapist and a United Methodist Minister. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor. I have been in private practice since 2008.
I believe that the essence of therapy is contained in the relationship between you and I, where you are free to explore new ideas, behaviors, and ways of being. I also believe that feedback is a key part of the counseling process. Basically, if there is going to be a relationship between us, I can’t just sit there, nod my head and say ‘Hmmm, how does that make you feel?’ That just isn’t enough.
I provide counseling to adults 18 years and older. I have experience working with people challenged with personal trauma, a history of physical or sexual abuse, chronic pain and illness, family and relatio nship issues, codependency, spiritual issues, and also adults coping with divorce, separation, or grief and loss. I also provide general mental health counseling for people struggling with depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. I am particularly interested in working with adults coping with divorce, family of origin issues, chronic pain and illness, trauma, and women’s issues. I have a Masters in Professional Counseling from Ottawa University and a Masters in Divinity from Claremont School of Theology. I am certified in EMDR and am listed on EMDRIA.ORG.
